How To Patch The Holes In Google Sniper

Google Sniper by George Brown launched October 15 of this year and has been a resounding success. It teaches readers how to create an empire of small websites that pull in money. Though this is not a Google Sniper review, I would like to cover a point that the system does not provide its readers with, and explain how you can plug this gap.

The basics of Google Sniper involve picking a low competition keyword, writing content to fit that keyword theme, using good on page SEO, and finishing up with a review or story to market your product. George provides more than enough info on those areas. The only issue is that if you mess up on your keyword selection, you’re not getting on the first page of Google without some link building.

If you’ve done any internet marketing before, you know it’s usually not that easy to find a perfect keyword. Often, a Google Sniper site made by a newbie will land on the second or third page of Google, which rarely sees enough traffic to get any sales.

How can we recover from this mistake?

The easiest solution to this issue is to simply build links pointing to your site. But George isn’t a big fan of link building, so he doesn’t cover much of it. Given that issue, I thought I’d give you a quick primer on some basic ways of link building here.

1. Social Bookmarking: George covers what you need to know about this. Don’t rely too much on these, most bookmarking sites are no-follow, which means that they’re not worth much in Google’s eyes.

2. Link Wheels: This is the process of creating blog posts on various Web 2.0 properties such as Blogger, Weebly, Vox, etc. with links pointing back to your site. They are made into a “wheel” of link juice by linking each property to the next, until finally linking the last property to the first.

3. Profile Links: A lot of sites where you can register a user account will let you post a link to your site. Check out MTV.com and MacUpdate for starters.

4. Blog Commenting: Find blogs that you can leave smart, relevant comments on, and post using your anchor text as your name and don’t forget to put in your URL!

5. Article Submission: Write quality content and submit it to the best article directories you can find. You can link back to your site at the end of the article in your resource box. In addition to providing you with a powerful link, article directories will often help you to generate additional traffic as they usually rank quite well in the search engines.

These 5 techniques provide the backbone of link building, and you can use them to get great Google rankings, even with stiff competition. Now that you’ve got this knowledge, the one hole in the Google Sniper system has been patched and you’re ready to start building your empire. Hurry up and get started building those sniper sites, your internet fortune is waiting!
